History Made On and Off the Court.

Come learn about the Flying Queens,  a women's collegiate basketball team from Wayland Baptist University (in Plainview, TX).  The Flying Queens revolutionized the way basketball is played.  They are widely known for their record-breaking  winnings and international reach.

The Flying Queens are the only team in collegiate basketball history (men's or women's) to achieve a 131 consecutive game winning streak (1953 - 1958).  The Flying Queens were inducted into the  Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013 and they were inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. Currently, the Flying Queens have an impressive 1700 wins.

Game Changers

The Flying Queens program gave strong, determined women a means of obtaining a college education.  The program also created opportunities for women to become leaders in the athletic and business world, opening new opportunities for women today.

Superstars

Individual players from the Flying Queans were chosen to represent the United States in many international competitions.  The Flying Queens Museum highlights the international reach and the remarkable role that the Flying Queens program had in changing the rules and growing the sport of women's basketball.
